The obligations of Salat

What is Required in Prayer

Once the conditions for prayer are gathered, you can start praying. For this, it is important to know what is obligatory in the salat. The steps below list the minimum to do, the pillars to accomplish for your prayer to be compliant and accepted insha Allah.

• Intention
• Sacralization
• Standing up
• Recite fatiha in each unit
• Tilt
• Raise the Tilt
• The 2 prostrations and the sitting position between the 2
• The sitting position before the salam and the final tashahhud
• The salam at the end of the prayer
• Respect the order of steps

1) Intention

The prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam)said, "Actions are only worth the intentions that drive them." [Narrated by al-Bukhari and Muslim]. We do not pray that our brothers and sisters say we do not pray, or to please our parents, or to say that we pray, that we go to the mosque. If the intention is not the satisfaction of Allah, prayer is worthless, even if it is fulfilled perfectly.

2) Say "Allahu Akbar" at the beginning (sacralization)

The prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam)said, "The opening of prayer is the purification, the state of sacralization begins with takbir (Allahu Akbar ) and ends with salam."[Reported by Ahmed and at-Tirmidhi]. When you pray as a group, be careful not to say Allahu Akbar before the Imam.

3) The standing position

The prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam)said, "Pray standing. If you can not, sit down. If you can not, on the side. [Narrated by al-Bukhari]. When you lie on your side, face the Qibla if it's possible. If you can not pray on the side, then on the back by raising your head a little (and feet if possible) to face the Qibla. He who can not move at all, prays with more or less blinking eyes to distinguish the inclination of the prostration. If he really can not blink, then he prays in his heart.

4) Recite the fatiha in each unit (rak'a)

The prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam)said, "The prayer of the one who did not recite the fatiha is not valid." [al Bukhari and Muslim]. 6) Stand up from the tilt

The prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam)stood up from the inclination before prostrating himself. [Reported by Muslim]. The stop must be marked when standing. You must not get up and then go to the ground to prostrate themselves like a rooster who wants to peck. Take your time.

7) The 2 prostrations and the sitting position between the 2

Allah says:

{O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good - that you may succeed.} [Surah 22 - Verse 77]

8) The sitting position before the salam and the final tashahhoud

The recitation of the final tashahhud: "at-tahiyyatullillah, wa as-salawatou wa tayyibat, assalamou 'alayka ayyouha nabiyyou wa rahmatullahi wa barakatouh, assalamou' alayna wa 'ala' ibadillahi assalihin, ashhadou an ilaha illallah wa anna mouhammadan ' abdouhou wa rasoulouh ". [Narrated by Muslim]. There are several tashahadud versions.

9) The salam at the end of the prayer

The prophet (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "The opening of prayer is the purification, the state of sacralization begins with takbir (Allahu Akbar) and ends with salam." [Reported by Ahmed and at-Tirmidhi]. In most cases, it says" Assalamu'alaykum wa rahmatullah "turning his head to the right, then" assalamu'alaykum wa rahmatullah "turning his head to the left.

10) The order

Everything must be done in the order listed above: the intention, the sacralisation, the standing position, the recitation of the fatiha, the inclination, the rectification after the inclination, the 2 prostrations and the position sitting between the 2, the sitting position before the salam and the recitation of the final tashahhud, the salam.
