Supplication When we start prayerDua at the start of the salatDua n°27The dua in Arabic: اللَّهُمَّ بَاعِدْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ خَطَايَايَ كَمَا بَاعَدْتَ بَيْنَ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ، اللَّهُمَّ نَقِّنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ، كَمَا يُنَقَّى الثَّوْبُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ، اللَّهُمَّ اغْسِلْنِي مِنْ خَطَايَايَ، بِالثَّلْجِ وَالْمَاءِ وَالْبَرَدِ. The invocation in english: « O Allah, distance me from my sins just as You have distanced the East from the West. O Allah, purify me of my sins as a white robe is purified of filth. O Allah cleanse me of my sins with snow, water, and ice. » The dhikr in phonetics: Allâhoumma ba'id baynî wa bayna khatâyâya kamâ bâ'adta bayna-l-mashriqi wa-l-maghribi. Allâhoumma naqqinî min khatâyâya kamâ younaqqa th-thawbou-l-abyadou mina d-danasi. Allâhoumma ghsilnî min khatâyâya bi th-thalji wa-l-mâ i wa-l-barad.
Source : al-Bukhari (#744, 1/181) and Muslim (#598, 1/419). Dua n°28The dua in Arabic: سُبْحَانَكَ اللَّهُمَّ وَبِحَمْدِكَ، وَتَبَارَكَ اسْمُكَ، وَتَعَالَى جَدُّكَ، وَلاَ إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ. The invocation in english: « How perfect You are O Allah, and I praise You. Blessed be Your name, and lofty is Your position and none has the right to be worshiped except You. » The dhikr in phonetics: Soubhânaka l-lâhoumma wa bi-hamdika, wa tabâraka smouka wa ta'âla jaddouka, wa lâ ilâha ghayrouka.

Dua n°29The dua in Arabic: وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ حَنِيفاً وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ، إِنَّ صَلاتِي، وَنُسُكِي، وَمَحْيَايَ, وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ، لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ. اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، أَنْتَ رَبِّي، وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي، وَاعْتَرَفْتُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي جَمِيعاً إِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، وَاهْدِنِي لأَحْسَنِ الأَخْلاقِ لا يَهْدِي لأَحْسَنِهَا إلاَّ أَنْتَ، وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا لاَ يَصْرِفُ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ، وَالْخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ بِيَدَيْكَ، وَالشَّرُّ لَيْسَ إِلَيْكَ، أَنَا بِكَ وَإِلَيْكَ، تَبَارَكْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ، أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوْبُ إِلَيْكَ. The invocation in english: « I have turned my face sincerely towards He who has brought forth the heavens and the earth and I am not of those who associate (others with Allah). Indeed my prayer, my sacrifice, my life, and my death are for Allah, Lord of the Worlds, no partner has He, with this I am commanded and I am of the Muslims. O Allah, You are the Sovereign, none has the right to be worshipped except You. You are my Lord and I am Your servant, I have wronged my own soul and have acknowledged my sin, so forgive me all my sins for no one forgives sins except You. Guide me to the best of characters for none can guide to it other than You, and deliver me from the worst of characters for none can deliever me from it other than You. Here I am, in answer to Your call, happy to serve You. All good is within Your hands and evil does not stem from You. I exist by Your will and will return to You. Blessed and High are You, I seek Your forgiveness and repent unto You. » The dhikr in phonetics: Wajjahtou wajhiya li-l-ladhî fatara s-samâwâti wa-l-arda, hanîfan wa mâ anâ mina-l-moushrikîna. Inna salâti wa nouSoukî, wa mahyâya wa mamâtî li-l-lâhi rabbi-l-'âlamîna, lâ sharîka lahou. Wa bi-dhâlika umirtou wa anâ mina-l-Muslimîna. Allâhoumma anta-l-malikou lâ ilâha illâ anta. Anta rabbî wa anâ 'abdouka, zalamtou nafsî wa 'taraftou bi-dhanbî. Fa-ghfir lî dhounûbî jamî'an, innahou lâ yaghfirou dh-dhounûba illâ anta. Wa hdinî li-ahsani-l-akhlâqi, lâ yahdî li-ahsanihâ illâ anta. Wa srif 'annî sayyi ahâ, lâ yasrifou 'annî sayy ahâ illâ anta. Labbayka wa sa'dayka, wa-l-khayrou koullouhou bi-yadayka, wa sh-sharrou laysa ilayka, anâ bika wa ilayka, tabârakta wa ta'âlayta, astaghfirouka wa atûbou ilayk.

Dua n°30The dua in Arabic: اللهم رَبَّ جِبرَائِيْلَ، وَ مِيكَائيْلَ، وَإسْرَافيْلَ، فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَ الأرْضِ، عَالِمَ الغَيْبِ وَ الشَّهَادَةِ، أنْتَ تَحْكُمُ بَيْنَ عِبَادِكَ فِيمَا كَانُوا فِيهِ يَخْتَلِفُونَ، اهْدِنِي لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ الحَقِّ بِإذْنِكَ، إنَّكَ تَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ إلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ. The invocation in english: « O Allah, Lord of Jibraʾil, Mikaʾil, and Israfil (Great angels), Creator of the heavens and the Earth, Knower of the seen and the unseen. You are the arbitrator between Your servants in that which they have disputed. Guide me to the truth by Your leave, in that which they have differed, for verily You guide whom You will to a straight path. » The dhikr in phonetics: Allâhoumma, rabba Jibrâ îla, wa Mîkâ îla, wa Isrâfîla ! Fâtira s-samâwâti wa-l-ardi, 'âlima l-ghaybi wa sh-shahâdati, anta tahkoumou bayna 'ibâdika fîmâ kânû fîhi yakhtalifoûna. Ihdinî li-mâ khtoulifa fîhi mina-l-haqqi bi-idhnika. Innaka tahdî man tashâ u ilâ sirâtîn moustaqîm.

Dua n°31The dua in Arabic: اللهُ أكْبَرُ كَبِيراً، اللهُ أكْبَرُ كَبِيراً، اللهُ أكْبَرُ كَبِيراً، وَ الحَمْدُلِلَّهِ كَثِيراً، وَالحَمْدُلِلَّهِ كَثِيراً، وَالحَمْدُلِلَّهِ كَثِيراً، وَ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ بُكْرَةً وَأصِيلاً (ثَلاثًا) أعُوذ بِا اللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ : مِنْ نَفْحِهِ وَ نَفْثِهِ، وَ هَمْزِهِ. The invocation in english: « Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, Allah is Most Great, much praise is for Allah, much praise is for Allah, much praise is for Allah, and I declare the perfection of Allah in the early morning and in the late afternoon. (3 times) I take refuge with Allah from the devil, from his pride, his poetry and his madness. » The dhikr in phonetics: Allâhou akbarou kabîran. Allâhou akbarou kabîran. Allâhou akbarou kabîran. Wa-l-hamdou li-l-âhi kathîran. Wa-l-hamdou li-l-âhi kathîran. Wa-l-hamdou li-l-âhi kathîran. Wa Soubhânallâhi boukratan wa asîlan. (3 times), A'oûdhou billâhi mina sh-shaytâni min nafkhihi, wa naftihi, wa hamzihi.

Dua n°32The dua in Arabic: اللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَوَاتِ والأرْضِ وَ مَنْ فِيهِنَّ، وَ لَكَ الحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ وَ مَنْ فِيهِنَّ، [وَ لَكَ الحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ رَبُّ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ وَ مَنْ فِيهِنَّ]، [وَ لَكَ الحَمْدُ، لَكَ مُلْكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ وَ مَنْ فِيهِنَّ][وَ لَكَ الحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ مَلِكُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأرْضِ][وَ لَكَ الحَمْدُ][أَنْتَ الحَقُّ، وَ وَعْدُكَ الحَقُّ، وَ قَولُكَ الحَقُّ، وَ لِقَاؤُكَ الحَقُّ، وَالجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ، وَ مُحَمَّدٌ ﷺ حَقٌّ، وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ][اللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ أسْلَمْتُ، وَ عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ، وَ بِكَ آمَنْتُ، وَ إلَيْكَ أنَبْتُ، وَ بِكَ خَاصَمْتُ، وَ إلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ. فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ، و أخَّرْتُ، وَ مَا أسْرَرْتُ، وَ مَا أعْلَنْتُ][أَنْتَ المُقَدِّمُ، وَ أَنْتَ المُؤَخِّرُ لَا إلٰهَ إلَّا أَنْتَ][أَنْتَ إلٰهِي لَا إلٰهَ إلَّا أَنْتَ]. The invocation in english: The Prophet (sallallahou 'alayhi wa sallam) would say (as an opening supplication in prayer) when arising from sleep to perform prayers during the night: « O Allah, to You belongs all praise, You are the Light of the heavens and the Earth and all that is within them. To You belongs all praise, You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the Earth and all that is within them. To You belongs all praise. You are Lord of the heavens and the Earth and all that is within them. To You belongs all praise and the kingdom of the heavens and the Earth and all that is within them. To You belongs all praise, You are the King of the heavens and the Earth and to You belongs all praise. You are The Truth, Your promise is true, Your Word is true, and the Day in which we will encounter You is true, the Garden of Paradise is true and the Fire is true, and the Prophets are true, Muḥammad () is true and the Final Hour is true. O Allah, unto You I have submitted, and upon You I have relied, and in You I have believed, and to You I have turned in repentance, and over You I have disputed, and to You I have turned for judgment. So forgive me for what has come to pass of my sins and what will come to pass, and what I have hidden and what I have made public. You are al-Muqaddim and al-Muʾakhkhir. None has the right to be worshipped except You, You are my Deity, none has the right to be worshipped except You. » The dhikr in phonetics: Allâhoumma laka-l-hamdou anta nûrou s-samâwâti wa-l-ardi wa man fîhinn. Wa laka-l-hamdou. Anta qayyimou s-samâwâti wa-l-ardi wa man fîhinn, [Wa laka-l-hamdou. Anta rabbou s-samâwâti wa-l-ardi wa man fîhinna.] [Wa laka-l-hamdou. Laka moulkou s-samâwâti wa-l-ardi wa man fîhinn.] [Wa laka-l-hamdou. Anta malikou s-samâwâti wa-l-ardi.] [Wa laka-l-hamdou.] [Anta-l-haqqou, wa wa'douka-l-haqqou, wa qawlouka-l-haqqou, wa liqâ uka-l-haqqou, wa-l-jannatou haqqoun, wa n-nârou haqqoun, wa n-nabiyyûna haqqoun, wa mouhammadoun haqqoun, wa s-sâ'atou haqqoun.] [Allâhoumma laka aslamtou, wa 'alayka tawwakaltou, wa bika âmantou, wa ilayka anabtou, wa bika khâsamtou, wa ilayka hâkamtou.
